Home Learning

We understand the impact that rehearsal and practice at home can have on our pupils understanding and confidence.

For this reason, we have made Knowledge Organisers for each unit covered within each year group available for parents/carers under the 'Curriculum' section of this website. These organisers allow our pupils to share their new knowledge with their families as well as allowing self-quizzing and rehearsal.

We have opted to keep weekly home learning expectations simple for all year groups.

We expect every pupil to read at home for a minimum of four times per week.

In Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1, this will be checked on a weekly basis through reading records.  In Key Stage 2, this will be checked on a weekly basis through the Accelerated Reader (AR) system.

Pupils who have failed to read on a regular basis at home will be given the opportunity in school to make up for this reading time during a break or lunchtime.

Additional home learning resources are available for our pupils.  Engagement with these resources is recommended but not compulsory.

Pupils are given their login detail during the first week of the school year.  If your child requires a reminder of these details, please contact their class teacher via Class Dojo.
