Primary School of the Year - Living Sport Award

On Thursday 24th October Godmanchester Community Academy won the award for Primary School of the Year at the Living Sport Awards after being nominated by our Huntingdonshire School Partnership school link teacher, Mrs Forster.

Godmanchester was nominated because of the delivery of high quality PE, provision of after school clubs and impact on student development.

A particular thank you must go to Mrs Tester who is our school PE co-ordinator. She works tirelessly throughout the year to ensure that sport maintains a high profile from organising out of school clubs, specialist teachers to come in and support P.E. and of course Sports Day.

The children are very proud of their school having won the award. Oli Y6 said “I think we deserve to win an award because we do lots and lots of P.E. and lots of different clubs. I know we’re very good at it.” and Olivia Y2 said “I feel really happy and I feel really proud of everyone. P.E. is also really fun. It gives me a lot of energy and teaches me lots of interesting moves.”

Well done Godmanchester Community Academy.
