Relationships and Sex Education

From September 2020, the Department for Education made Relationships Education and Health Education (Primary) and Relationships and Sex Education and Health Education (Secondary) compulsory in all schools.

We have worked hard to audit and review our PSHE, Science and Computing curriculums to ensure that they incorporate the knowledge identified in the Department for Education guidance and legislation.

As we have historically taught Sex Education as part of both our PSHE and Science curriculums, little alteration had to be made.

After a period of consultation which involved seeking feedback from pupils, staff, parents and governors, we have finalised our Relationships and Sex Education policy and curriculum.

We will review our policy on an annual basis ensuring that the views of pupils, staff, parents and governors are considered.

Date of next review: May 2023
