Viking Day
Y6 enjoyed a vicious Viking day today. They learnt where the Vikings invaded and settled as well as how they lived. The children gave names to their villages and learnt about weaponry before they then held a mock battle. Throughout the day the children played a Viking board game called Hnerfertafl which is very similar to chess and were challenged to a trading game where they had to trade goods in preparation for a journey on their longship.
The children all made a superb effort in dressing as Vikings and thank you to all parents for their support in making this an enjoyable and memorable day.
